Reflection:
My school improvement/technology improvement plan analysis was written to help me facilitate methods for creating attainable goals for implementing strategies using technology. These strategies will be included in action steps created within the school improvement plan. All grade levels will be included in the plan across multi disciplines. All technology-based action steps will be part of the process to make classrooms at our school more innovative and promote twenty-first century readiness. The school/technology improvement plan supports standard 1.4 because all strategies were researched and presented to the school leadership team for consideration in placement on the school improvement plan. Several factors from my plan were utilized as action steps to attain certain goals on the school improvement plan and were implemented in various grade levels and disciplines. All were technology-based and promoted innovative changes in classrooms using technology that supported the students and goals of the School Improvement Plan. While comprising the School/Technology improvement plan, I learned that there are many aspects of a school to consider when researching and choosing what strategies to use as parts of action plans. I learned that the current realities of the classrooms at my school had to first be considered as well as the needs of the teacher and students. The technology options are endless, and I had to be careful not to choose just the “latest and greatest” tech tool, but rather those that the students and teachers would benefit from based on their current reality and need. If I were to change anything within this assignment, I would create a more detailed needs assessment to give to the teachers with more specific options to choose from, especially for the teacher that may be reluctant to incorporate technology into the classroom and adopt the tools and strategies included in the school improvement action steps. The information included in this artifact was incorporated directly into the school improvement plan for the 2022/23 school year. Professional Learning sessions will be provided for the staff to learn how to use and implement new forms of technology or tools, broadening their knowledge of how to effectively implement technology in their classroom. Students will benefit from these new strategies from my improvement/technology plan and become stronger twenty-first century thinkers and learners. The impact can be assessed by effective uses of the strategies in the classroom and the increase in student knowledge of the tools.
