My name is Courtney Chastain and I am in the Master’s Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program Summer 2021 and will graduate Spring 2023. I graduated from The University of West Georgia in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Immediately after graduation, I began teaching fourth and fifth grades in Elementary School for 16 years. I am currently serving as a STEM Facilitator and Educator in Elementary Education.
KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the master’s degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. My ultimate goal is to further my knowledge of incorporating technology to my instruction and develop my students in to twenty-first century thinkers and learners! Eventually, I would like to obtain a job as a technology coach in my county. I plan to continue with my education by pursuing my specialist’s degree in Instructional Technology at KSU following the conclusion of my master’s program.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE Coaching standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University and feel that I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them
